Family Guy lives! That's fantastic news for the devoted fans who watched in record numbers the reruns on Cartoon Network and made the Family Guy DVDs bestsellers. It's terrible news for Mel Gibson, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Rob Schneider, Skeet Ulrich, Corey Haim, My Two Dads, and other pop-polish detritus this show's writers take infinite delight in kicking when they're not working (or up, for that matter). The long, long, awaited fourth season starts with a bravado broadside at Fox, which canceled Family Guy in 2002. Peter Griffin (voiced by series creator Seth MacFarlane) recites a litany of 29 doomed replacement shows beginning with Dark Angel and ending with Greg the Bunny. From there, it's like the Griffins never left. The 13 episodes are just as dense with in person gathering jokes, surreal nonsense, gratuitous pop-polish references (the more obscure, the better), and edgier gags that recklessly cross the line on any digit of levels ("Maybe I was incorrect about you," Jodie Foster says to John Hinckley in the episode, "Develop Misbehavior." "Maybe I was incorrect about all men.").
The new season rewards longtime viewers with appearances by such series icons as the Greased-Up Deaf Guy and the Evil Monkey in Chris's closet, and makes no concessions to newcomers to the show (who will no doubt be scratching their heads over the more than two-and-a-semi-minute digression in "Blind Desire," in which Peter's nemesis, the Giant Chicken, returns to continue the smackdown that started in the season 2 episode "Da Boom." In "World Domination: The Family Guy Phenomenon," one of the bonus features included on this three-disc set, MacFarlane proclaims these new shows to be "the best we've done." A bold claim, but often enough, one is laughing too hard to prove otherwise. One minute, Family Guy dazzles with inspired animation (In "Breaking Out Is Hard to Do," Chris reaches for a carton of milk at the supermarket and finds himself pulled in to A-ha's classic music video, "Take on Me"). The next, it's wallowing in vomit ("8 Unadorned Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter"). In addition to the freewheeling episode commentaries, this set also includes a fantastic bonus, excerpts of cast "desk reads" of two episodes. In trade to the "World Domination" featurette. I bought this box set thought it would be like the first three seasons. I didn’t watch this on TV when the new season came on. Boy, was I let not working, I didn’t like the first episode, when they made jokes about Christians, and had Christ in it, not just the first episode either. They need to stop at season four, it’s just not that amusing anymore, like in the past.

now i recognize not everbody isn’t going to be into the constant shows..but if you don’t like family guy, you really do suck. i loved watching south park for the first 3 years and there’s very few of them i like now. the simpsons was excellent from seasons 4 to 7, and king of the hill is fine but nowhere near as amusing as family guy. the family show was awesome up your sleeve from the lack of extras on the dvd. season 4 was really excellent. i was worried the show wouldn’t be the constant but i was (thankfully) proven incorrect. the only downside to season 4 for me is the lack of episodes. i too was once a huge fan of the simpsons but then family guy came along.. family guy is hands not working the best animated show on tv right now. sorry to tell ya simpsons and south park fans but family guy is just way more amusing then both of them. if you don’t like family guy… hell to hell!. if you have any sense of humor in you, then you gotta pick up season 4 of family.

I, like others, like “Family Guy” but this season was a wash. The jokes were lame, the episodes didn’t have enough plot (or humor…rather, “Family Guy Humor”) to get on to it worth buying. Honestly, it was like they were so stoked on being in trade they just phoned it tin, feeling untouchable. The episodes were completely sub par. I’m just letting people recognize. I’m not buying them, and if you do, I reckon you’ll see why.
Just for reference, “The Simpsons” this year has sunk to it’s lowest and it’s really calculate to go. I know why “Seinfeld” and others chose to go out on top. “The Simpsons” is just pathetic with recycled jokes or jokes that need reach too far to be amusing. I’m just saying this since if you choose, you’ll choose with my review…I’m sure.

I’m sick and tired of people manslaughter calculate writing a review of a show they don’t like or have given up on. You’re manslaughter your calculate and the calculate of fans of the show. NO ONE CARES WHY YOU THINK THE SHOW IS BAD!!! I like the new Season. It may take a even as for the show to get rolling again, cuz they got cancelled for 3 years!!! And I’m sure they had other fantastic thoughts for episodes but gave up on them cuz the show got canned. Just give Seth, the cast and crew some calculate and creativity. FAMILY GUY ROCKS!!!

I really despise to say this, really, but this was not close to the best of FAMILY GUY. There are laughs, but not like before. I choose with other reviewers that it is lacking an advantage. I wish now that FOX had brought in trade FUTURAMA in trade instead.
